Petersburg – The Tri-City Association of Educational Office Professionals (TCAEOP) held their 52nd Annual Bosses’ Night Celebration at 6:00 p.m. At The Globe, 201 N. Sycamore Street, on Thursday, May 23, 2019. The theme for the evening was “Partners in Progress, Make Every Connection Matter.” Bosses’ Night is an annual event where educational office professionals honor their supervisors for their support of the Association, and to express grateful appreciation for the professional, unselfish and dedicated service they provide in the workplace.
Greetings were extended by Dr. Marcus J. Newsome, Superintendent, Petersburg Public Schools, Dr. Kari Weston, Superintendent, Dinwiddie County Public Schools and Mr. Kevin, Davenport, Vice-President for Finance at Virginia State University.
The Tri-City AEOP awards two scholarships each year to deserving high school and/or college students. This year’s recipients were Miss Nichelle N. Evans, a graduate of Petersburg High School and Mr. Larry J. Davenport, a graduate of Thomas Dale High School. Both students received a $500.00 scholarship to help them with their college expenses. Miss Evans plans to attend The College of William and Mary and major in Biology and Mr. Davenport plans to attend Hampton University and major in Accounting.
To climax the evening, the 2019 Educational Administrator of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Berkita Bradford, Chair, Department of Hospitality Management at Virginia State University.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Petersburg Chapter of Choir Psi Phi National Music Society, who rendered a variety of a cappella spiritual and popular tunes.
Attendees participated in a 50/50 raffle whose proceeds contribute to the scholarship fund and all guests received a door prize.
